Why does every packet need the strength of a bank vault?

I wanted a biscuit, not an escape-room challenge. The little tab tears off without opening anything, scissors somehow make it worse, and eventually the packet explodes across the kitchen like I have breached a crisp-based security system. Packaging should protect the food from the journey, not protect the food from me.
