The office thermostat belongs in a peace treaty

Half the office is wrapped in emergency knitwear while the other half has opened every window in January. One person nudges the thermostat up, another secretly turns it down, and nobody admits anything. We are not colleagues anymore. We are rival climate zones sharing a printer.

Reply all is not a personality

One person asks whether anyone has seen a blue notebook and suddenly eighty-seven people are replying all with “not me”, “hope you find it” and “please remove me from this chain”. Every attempt to escape creates another email. Somewhere, the notebook is laughing.

This meeting was an email wearing a lanyard

We booked forty-five minutes, waited eight minutes for somebody to find the link, spent ten minutes recapping the last meeting and finally agreed to do the thing already written in the original email. Then somebody suggested a follow-up meeting. Productivity has left the building and taken the biscuits with it.
